Start of training at BÜFA

Oldenburg family business welcomes 16 young people starting their careers

Oldenburg-based family business BÜFA welcomed 16 new apprentices on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. In the innovation village of ZUKUNFT.unternehmen in the old BÜFA glass hall in Oldenburg, the trainers welcomed the new colleagues. At the end of June, the trainees were able to make initial contacts with each other and get to know their future employer at the BÜFA Welcome Day. On the first day of training, after an introduction to the BÜFA Group, the career starters started directly in their respective teams at the various locations.

BÜFA is currently training 45 young people at its facilities in Oldenburg, Hude and Rastede and in cooperation with Plixxent in Oldenburg. In eleven professions in the areas of laboratory, production, logistics as well as in the digital and commercial areas, the trainees receive a multi-award-winning, versatile and future-oriented training.

"We are very pleased that we can continue to accompany young people on their professional and personal path in numerous, even three new professions, over the next few years," says training manager Sabine Hinrichs. "In this context, we are particularly proud of our holistic training concept, which includes not only teaching technical skills but also strengthening the trainees' personalities," Sabine Hinrichs continues.

In their own trainee company Grüne Tierwelt, the career starters manage their own company, whose business model is based on the sale of sustainable animal products via the online store www.gruene-tierwelt.de. In the agile start-up, the trainees learn to organize themselves in a team and develop their entrepreneurial skills on a small scale. They can apply the knowledge they have learned from their day-to-day work at BÜFA directly in their own company. Product research, purchasing and marketing as well as the strategic development of the start-up are the trainees' own responsibility. Mentors from the specialist departments and an internal BÜFA supervisory board provide them with coaching support.

Another highlight of the training at BÜFA is an intensive workshop lasting several days on the North Sea island of Juist. During the flight training in the motor glider and the experiential project work, the trainees leave their comfort zone and receive new impulses for their professional life and, above all, for their personal development.

In the new training year starting in August 2023, BÜFA will offer three new professions: For the first time, the chemical company is training process mechanics in cooperation with the shipbuilding company Fassmer. Also new is training as a professional driver. In addition, after a break of several years, BÜFA is once again offering training in the field of information technology for system administration.
