EcoVadis

External impetus is particularly important to us on our path to holistic sustainability. We are transparent about our successes and untapped potential. That is why we have our sustainability activities assessed by the independent rating agency EcoVadis. Customers of the BÜFA Group can view the EcoVadis assessment form and thus receive transparent documentation. In 2024, the BÜFA Group was awarded the gold medal by EcoVadis for the second time in a row and, with 74 out of 100 points, is one of the best-rated companies in the industry.

EcoVadis assesses companies in the areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. BÜFA received an above-average rating in the environmental category in particular, covering energy consumption, emissions, and other environmental issues. The rating supports BÜFA in achieving its sustainability goals and improving its sustainability performance. EcoVadis, founded in Paris in 2007, is the world's largest provider of sustainability ratings, with over 100,000 companies assessed.

Transparency and communication

In dialogue with stakeholders

BÜFA attaches great importance to transparent communication and active dialogue with various stakeholders. We want to promote knowledge and understanding of the processing and possible uses of chemical products among employees, customers, the media, and civic associations, among others. The company offers a variety of dialogue formats—including factory tours—for media representatives, citizens, and school classes to provide insights into production, high safety standards, and the services offered.

In addition, BÜFA hosts an annual Future Day for school students to give them an insight into the company and various apprenticeship opportunities. In-house exhibitions at BÜFA Cleaning Germany and BÜFA Composite Systems also strengthen the sense of community among international colleagues. A comprehensive customer and employee survey was conducted to gain insights into brand loyalty and awareness for effective corporate branding.

Sustainable growth

As part of its sustainable growth strategy, BÜFA has acquired the MacSerien Group in its entirety effective January 1, 2024, thereby strengthening its market presence in Scandinavia in the field of environmentally friendly cleaning technologies. The acquisition supports the strategic diversification of the BÜFA Group, particularly with regard to resource-saving water treatment and an environmentally conscious circular economy. At the same time, BÜFA is extending its long-standing partnership with AOC to Sweden and further expanding its composites business in the region. Both steps underscore the goal of tapping into international markets with sustainable solutions and specialized products.
