Continuous optimization of our products and services
We create sustainable solutions for our customers and support sustainable and future-oriented industries with our sophisticated products. That is why we develop and use environmentally friendly product alternatives and optimize our products in terms of their environmental compatibility and lower concentration levels.
We also continuously improve their application properties to make them even more durable and easy to process. We maintain long-term partnerships with our suppliers and select our raw materials responsibly. We are constantly increasing the proportion of environmentally friendly, bio-based, or recycled raw materials. Our goal is for our processes, products, and services to contribute to greater sustainability in the value chain.
Portfolio harmonization for optimal processes
As part of our product strategy, we focus on efficiency, clarity, and synergies—across locations and close to our customers. In the BÜFA Cleaning division, for example, we have harmonized the German and Dutch portfolios in the Paint & Ink segment to combine the best products from both markets in a single range. The streamlined portfolio optimizes production processes, reduces costs, and makes it easier to use and onboard new employees. Uniform standards increase transparency, knowledge transfer, and product understanding.
Acting proactively for safe and environmentally friendly products
At BÜFA, we not only act in accordance with legal requirements, but often go above and beyond to protect people and the environment in the best possible way. For example, we began reformulating products containing potentially critical ingredients such as ethanol and butyl glycol at an early stage. We have already successfully adapted several ethanol-containing formulations, and ready-to-use alternatives are available for others. We have also completed the switch to butyl glycol-free formulations. In this way, we are strengthening the safety of our products and their application through forward-looking action.
Improved air quality through targeted extraction
In line with sustainable development, BÜFA continuously adapts its production and processes—as was the case with the construction of the new three-roll mill at the BÜFA Composite Systems site. In preparation for commissioning, high-performance extraction technology was installed to capture emissions such as solvents and pigment dust in a targeted manner and significantly improve air quality in the workplace. The measures not only help to comply with legal limits, but also promote employee health and the stability of production processes.
