Your tasks and activities
Your training in Oldenburg or Rastede lasts three years. You will work in several commercially relevant departments and areas such as:
- Purchasing
- Sales
- Marketing
- Materials management
- Production and shipping
- Human resources
- Finance and controlling
You will purchase goods, monitor production processes, and process customer orders. You will also determine material consumption in production, handle applicant management, and take care of accounting.
Your training history
1st year of training
In your so-called home department, you will specialize in your respective area of responsibility. From the very beginning, you will work according to the principle of “learning by doing.” You will be warmly welcomed by all your colleagues and immediately given responsibility.
Vocational school classes take place twice a week in the first year of training and once a week in the second and third years at BBS Haarentor. BBS Haarentor also offers an additional qualification as a European Business Administrator (m/f/d).
Second year of training
You will work in various departments to familiarize yourself with the aforementioned range of tasks. For example, you will spend four months at BÜFA Holding in Oldenburg learning everything about human resources management and finance & controlling.
Third year of training
You will return to your home department to further deepen your main activities from the first year of training. Here you will also prepare for your final exam.
Soft skills and requirements
Training as an industrial clerk requires at least a good secondary school diploma. You also need good grades in mathematics, English, and German. In addition, you should have a keen interest in economic issues and possess the following soft skills:
- Good communication skills (written/oral)
- Good spelling skills
- Numeracy and IT skills
- Foreign language skills
- Ability to work in a team and willingness to learn
Your prospects after training
Those who complete their final exam with a grade of 2.5 or higher usually receive a contract for at least 12 months after completing their training. Even before that, all trainees can apply for internal job vacancies. Once you have found your “dream job,” that's when things really get started!
