Starke Partnerschaften für eine nachhaltige Entwicklung
The family-owned company BÜFA feels a strong connection to people and the environment, especially in the region, and is committed to its responsibilities as a company.
Economic, ecological, and social sustainability are inextricably linked.
That is why we support various institutions and projects in the areas of culture, sports, education, and social welfare in order to positively influence sustainable development in our region.

BÜFA's founding centre and long-standing partner
For us, sustainability in the area of donations and sponsorship also means supporting commitments over many years, building reliable partnerships for secure planning and lasting added value. We have enjoyed a special partnership with Oldenburg's Kulturetage theatre for over twenty years now. Where concerts, variety shows and cabaret take place today, the history of BÜFA began 140 years ago with a grocery shop. For almost three decades, the Kulturetage has organised the Cabaret Days at the beginning of the year, of which BÜFA is the main sponsor.

United in sport
Sport unites the most diverse people regardless of age, gender or origin. As a sponsor, BÜFA supports Oldenburg's professional basketball, football and equestrian teams. In addition to the inclusive nature of sport, BÜFA also promotes employee loyalty by sponsoring the EWE Baskets, VfB Oldenburg, VfL Oldenburg and the Oldenburg State Tournament. Each sports sponsorship includes a large ticket contingent for BÜFA employees.

International support
Our focus in terms of commitment lies in the regions where our group of companies has locations. In addition, we support international projects, especially social projects, during these challenging times. In 2024, we supported local animal welfare organizations at all BÜFA Group locations as part of a Christmas donation.
The Oldenburg Cabaret Days took place from January 10, 2025, to March 6, 2025, under the motto “Ausgelacht!” (Laughed Out!). With intelligent, pointed humor about current political events around the world, eight talented cabaret artists presented their programs and thrilled the audience. The Cabaret Days have been an integral part of the cultural landscape for 30 years, bringing humor and laughter to the city. Organized by the Kulturetage, the event features both well-known artists and promising newcomers who delight audiences at the Unikum and the Kulturetage. This anniversary is particularly significant for BÜFA, as the family-owned company has been supporting the Cabaret Days for 25 years, celebrating a special connection between culture and chemistry.
The Oldenburg State Tournament takes place once a year in Rastede. It combines riding and driving championships, club sports, shows, and entertainment. With over 100 competitions, the Oldenburg State Tournament is one of the largest equestrian tournaments in Europe.
As part of the Oldenburg State Tournament 2024, BÜFA ran a successful fundraising campaign for the Rastede Wildlife Rescue Center. For every tournament ribbon returned, a donation was made to support the important work of the rescue center. The Rastede Wildlife Rescue Center is dedicated to rescuing and caring for wild animals. Every year, around 2,000 animals—including birds of prey, owls, hedgehogs, and squirrels—are cared for there and released back into the wild after they have recovered.
As part of the 2024 European elections, BÜFA teamed up with SimEP Oldenburg e.V. to run a European policy simulation game. BÜFA employees and guests from other companies and the IGBCE trade union got to experience how the legislative process works in the European Parliament and how coalitions are formed through party meetings and debates. The simulation game offered practical insight into the complex work of the European Parliament and promoted understanding of the importance of democratic participation and political communication. Founded in 2020, the association SimEP Oldenburg e.V. regularly organizes political simulation games. The aim of these events is to convey political education processes in a playful way.
We are sponsoring the women's team of VfL Oldenburg for the 2024/2025 season – whether at Bundesliga home games, DHB Cup games, or European Cup home games. VfL Oldenburg, the second youngest team in the 1st Bundesliga, is actively committed to diversity. With its “Power through Diversity” campaign, the club aims to address social issues and create equal conditions for people from different backgrounds in sport. We are delighted to be supporting the women's handball team this season and to be a partner of this great initiative.
