FAQ about the application

Knowing what is important

Come aboard safely

Motivation and the will to make a difference are what distinguishes our employees!

What is the general application process?

Your application documents were a real winner? Then we look forward to inviting you by e-mail to a first-round meeting via video call, or to a short telephone interview, to gain a first impression of each other. If you have done well here, you will receive an invitation to a second on-site interview to meet  supervisors and colleagues in person. A  subsequent tour of the premises or trial work period is not excluded.

What should I look for in my application?

Prepare your complete application documents, including your current CV and references. We are particularly interested in your motivation and your professional goals, as well as your experience and expectations of the position, which you should formulate in the cover letter. Other important details for us include your notice period and your salary expectations.

Do I have a chance at BÜFA as a career changer?

As a career changer, you have already dealt extensively with the requirements and tasks of your desired profession. At BÜFA, we also offer motivated career changers the opportunity to start a new chapter in selected specialist areas, and to acquire new knowledge and skills. Our HR development function accompanies your career at BÜFA.

Do I also have a chance of getting a job with a speculative application?

You would like to work at BÜFA, but there is no job advertisement that matches your profile? In order for the HR department to react flexibly to unexpected vacancies, the pool of unsolicited applications creates opportunities to cover personnel requirements with suitable candidates. Formulate your motivation and your desired job as clearly and comprehensively as possible, so that we can match your profile with our requirements and thus consider it for a suitable vacancy. Your application will be kept for a maximum of six months.

Are there any deadlines I should be aware of when applying?

As long as the job advertisement is posted online on our homepage, you can assume that we will consider your application in the selection process, and that you, therefore, still have a chance to apply for the respective position.

What are my working hours as a student trainee?

As a student trainee, we try to accommodate your working hours as much as possible so that you can combine lectures and work. Working hours are coordinated with your supervisor and are as flexible as possible. However, in some areas, we are dependent on internal core processes for working time. In principle, you can increase your weekly working hours during the lecture period by up to 20 hours/week and in your lecture-free period as needed and agreed upon according to legal requirements.

Are there certain times during the year when I have a better chance of getting an internship?

You can apply for a school or student internship with us at any time. Tell us the period of your internship and the earliest start date, as well as the exact duration and your field of interest. After an exchange with our specialist departments, we will let you know as to whether we can realise your wish.

Does BÜFA also offer a dual study programme?

We do not currently offer a dual study programme. We are convinced of our vocational training approach and are happy to support and advise our employees after their training on the issues of further training & qualification – completely tailored to their needs!

When will I receive feedback?

Our aim is to offer you feedback within approximately two weeks of receiving your application. Please understand that delays may occur during temporary work peaks. Any such occurrence has nothing to do with you personally.

How should I imagine joining BÜFA?

Your structured professional and social induction is a high priority at BÜFA. Awaiting you is a personal mentor, an individual induction plan with defined milestones, specialist and interdisciplinary training, an introduction to the concept of Lean Management and, last but not least, the Welcome Day. One special highlight is our job rotation. Here you will gain some initial insight into other teams at your respective location, as well as into a team with a similar focus at another BÜFA location over a period of one to two weeks. Regular reflection meetings with your manager are a matter of course for us.

Will I have the opportunity to gain further qualifications internally?

The development of our employees and managers is an important focus for BÜFA. We see this as our most important building block in shaping our company. We understand the competence development of each individual not only as a basic prerequisite for successful business, but also as key for a pleasant working atmosphere and enjoyment of the job itself. Through proactive exchange in employee-supervisor meetings and through our HR development process, we ensure that your development is not neglected in addition to the day-to-day business.

“I have been working at BÜFA since 1982, starting with my apprenticeship, then I got a permanent job at BÜFA Chemicals. In all that time, I felt (and still feel) at home in this medium-sized family business. On the one hand, this is due to the spirit of cooperation and sense of cohesion in our team.

In the 40 years that I have been with BÜFA, I can say that a good company philosophy is still fully embraced, and that BÜFA is a reliable employer, and I feel well-looked-after and valued as an employee!”
