Start your training as a chemical technician now!

Your training as a chemical technician lasts three and a half years and varies depending on the specific BÜFA company. As a chemical technician in vocational school, you will receive special instruction in physics, chemistry, and mathematics. On the job, you will operate and monitor machines and equipment used to manufacture and fill chemical products:

• You measure out raw materials
• You load raw materials into the equipment
• You produce the desired product through heating, cooling, or distillation
• You ensure the quality of our products by taking samples and analyzing them

Vocational school classes take place at the BZTG in Oldenburg. In the first year of training, you attend school two days a week. In the second, third, and fourth years, you attend only once a week.

1st Year of Training

You will be assigned to your so-called home department at a BÜFA subsidiary. From the very beginning, you will be introduced to production or bottling and gain as much insight and experience as possible.

2nd Year of Training

In your second year of training with us, you will get to know the other subsidiaries and, for chemical technicians, job-specific processes.

3rd and 4th Years of Training

You will return to your home department and prepare intensively for your exams.

Each training cohort receives support measures, such as in-house training. This helps deepen the theoretical knowledge you acquire in school.

To perform the duties of a chemical technician, you should have at least a secondary school diploma; good grades in chemistry, physics, and mathematics are required. You should also possess the following soft skills:

• Teamwork and a willingness to learn

Those who complete their final exam with a grade of 2.5 or higher usually receive a contract for at least 12 months after completing their training.
