Your training history

The content of training at BÜFA varies from location to location. The important thing is that the principle of “learning by doing” applies everywhere. You will be given responsibility right from the start. However, working independently at BÜFA does not mean that you have to complete your tasks entirely on your own. Quite the contrary: if you have a question, you can always turn to your colleagues for help.

1st year of training

You will be assigned to your so-called home department – at a BÜFA subsidiary or at our training partner PLIXXENT Oldenburg. From the very beginning, you will be integrated into the normal daily routine of the laboratory and introduced to all tasks. This will allow you to gather as many impressions and experiences as possible. Vocational school lessons take place at BBS 3 on Maastrichter Straße. In the first year of training, you will attend school two days a week. In the second, third, and fourth years of training, you will only attend once a week.

Second year of training

You will get to know the other training laboratories at BÜFA and PLIXXENT. At PLIXXENT Oldenburg and BÜFA Composite Systems, you will mainly be working with polymers. At BÜFA Cleaning Systems, you will be working with traditional wet chemistry.

Third year of training

You will usually be back in your home department, preparing intensively for your exam. To this end, you will also attend internships at the LUFA (Research and Testing Institute) and the LAVES (Oldenburg Veterinary Institute). In addition, you will complete exam preparation at the Carl von Ossietzky University. Incidentally, all chemical laboratory assistant trainees attend classes here once a week and prepare and review the material from vocational school.

Your prospects after training

Those who complete their final exam with a grade of 2.5 or higher usually receive a contract for at least 12 months after completing their training. However, all trainees can apply for internal job vacancies even before this. Once you have found your “dream job,” the real work begins—BÜFA offers its employees numerous and highly customized qualification and training opportunities. From part-time studies to specialization in a specific subject area, everything is possible... because our employees are the real capital and the heart of our company.

The places for the 2026 training program are already filled.
