With the publication of its latest Sustainability Report 2024, the BÜFA Group documents its Europe-wide commitment to a future fit for our grandchildren.
Among other things, the report provides insights into key measures for reducing CO₂ emissions, strengthening the circular economy, and strategic partnerships for sustainable innovations.
One focus is on the consistent path to climate neutrality. In addition to investing in modern exhaust air purification systems and measures for sustainable mobility, BÜFA offsets unavoidable emissions through certified projects such as ZukunftMoor near Bremen. “A key goal for the coming year is to further reduce our CO₂ emissions – especially in Scope 1 and Scope 2. The expansion of electric mobility at our sites, the generation of our own renewable energies, and the continuous improvement of our energy efficiency are decisive factors in this regard,” explains Yvonne Burmann, Sustainability Manager at the BÜFA Group.
At the same time, the company is working on the gradual expansion of its sustainable product portfolio. In packaging, BÜFA relies on canisters made from recycled material that meet the highest safety standards. In addition, BÜFA has optimized its existing rebottling process and uses resource-saving rinsing methods – a further contribution to a functioning circular economy.
The BÜFA Group also receives important impetus for sustainable innovations through close cooperation with start-ups and specialized funds. These strengthen the development of future-proof solutions along the entire value chain.
Another highlight is the BÜFA Group's renewed award of the EcoVadis Gold Medal. “This is a strong sign of our ongoing commitment and our desire for continuous improvement,” explains Felix Thalmann, CEO of the BÜFA Group.
